Frequently Asked Questions
How does the free tier work?
You get 1,000 API calls completely free every month, no credit card required. Perfect for testing and small projects. The free tier resets on the first day of each month.
What is the minimum payment?
We round your total API calls up to nearest 500, meaning if you do 1250 API calls in a month, we first subtract the free 1,000, leaving us with 250, rounded up to 500 = 500 API calls = $2.00
What counts as an API call / Series?
API Calls: Each request to our forecasting, training, and analyze endpoints counts as one API call. You can include up to 100 historical data points in a single call. Additional data points are charged at the same tier rate per 1,000 points, divided by frequency modifier. Additional data points are aggregated across all API calls.
Series: For Batch requests, we count each individual series as their own call, for example a Batch API call to forecast for 5 entities (eg SKUs) will count as 5 API calls.
Health-check and similar API endpoints are not subject to billing.
What is Frequency Modifier?
Frequency Modifier refers to which forecasting frequency you use.
Daily has a multiplier of 1.00x
Weekly has a multiplier of 0.75x
Monthly has a multiplier of 0.25x
Quarterly has a multiplier of 0.10x
Yearly has a multiplier of 0.05x
Example: if you use weekly frequency (0.75x) and send 912 datapoints (~2,5 years of data), we first subtract the 100 included data points (912-100=812), now we multiply 812 * 0.75 = 609.00 additional data points used
This means 5 years of data using monthly frequency at Scale tier ($0.0010 per call) would cost $0.0010 + $0.0006 ~= $0.0016 using live forecasting, and ~$0.0008 with batching.
How do I control spending?
You can set monthly spending limits to avoid any surprise bills, we also offer e-mail based alerts for hitting 80% of the set spending limit.
Are there any setup or monthly fees?
No! ForecastAPI is purely usage-based. You only pay for the API calls you make. No setup fees, no monthly minimums, no hidden charges.
How are volume discounts applied?
Volume discounts are automatically applied based on your monthly usage. As you move through the tiers, each tier's pricing applies only to the calls within that range, giving you the best possible price.
Can I get a custom enterprise plan?
For usage over 10 million API calls per month, we offer custom enterprise pricing with dedicated support and SLAs. Contact our sales team to discuss your needs.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and ACH transfers for enterprise customers. Payments are processed securely through Paddle.
